[The Strait of Magellan, into which Olivier van Noort, General of Ships, arrived on the fifth day of November, in the year 1599, and from there on to the Mare del Zur [Pacific Ocean], on the last day of February, in the year 1600, as far as Concepción, which is abundant in gold.]
